  • Über das Werk: What would Berlin be without the Spree? And what does the Spree mean to Berliners? These are the questions posed by the three extraordinary photo installations that Götz Lemberg is presenting at three prominent locations in the city to mark the 100th anniversary of Greater Berlin.
  • Götz Lemberg
  • Lemberg works across different media. Alongside light installations, photography is his favourite medium. From 2015 to 2020, the artist has dedicated himself to a comprehensive portrait of Berlin and Brandenburg as reflected in its river landscapes. The series of works kicked off with "H_V_L - CUTS. Portrait of a river landscape". "SPREE-CUTS. Portrait of a river.city.landscape" continued it. "ODER-CUTS. Portrait of a Border.River.Landscape." concluded the series of works. In total, the photographs were shown in 17 solo exhibitions in museums and art institutions. Detailed catalogues have been published for each of the individual river portraits.
