  • Über das Werk: This work is part of Maix Mayer's multimedia work cycle -barosphere-, which began in 2015 and is dedicated to various aspects of modern architecture in the form of audiovisual compositions. The photo was taken during his stay at the German Academy Villa Massimo Rome and shows the diving tower in Ostia, which was built by Italian civil engineer Pier Luigi Nervi for the Olympic Games in Rome (1960).
  • Maix Mayer
  • In his projects, media artist Maix Mayer moves between film, photography, performance, sculpture and audiovisual compositions. In his multimedia cycle of works he examines different narrative models of fiction and reality. As a matrix that is always recomposed, he uses the interplay of media / arts and architecture. Referring on his scientific education, his arrangements build up a context to perceive time / space and history. Under special regard he deals with the transformations of our society, the given examples based on urban spaces and the related aspect of symbolization of architecture as social utopia. What happens when we think history and place together?
